CICS Prairie News
Dear Distinctive Schools & CICS Families,
We are well into the second quarter, and Spring Break is right around the corner. It is hard to believe how fast the school year is moving. There is much to celebrate so far! As we ensure a strong finish to the school year, we are also planning for next school year. To that end, we want to share several changes to our school calendar for next year.
Overview of 2019-2020 Calendar
These changes consider multiple perspectives from students, teachers and families. All calendar decisions were also made with careful consideration by the network Academic Team, Campus Directors, and our partners at CICS and Chicago Public Schools. We appreciate all of the parent feedback and we are grateful for the support from all of our families. Feedback included considerations for building temperatures in August, length of school year compared to CPS, vacation schedules, summer camp offerings and other programming opportunities for students. These shifts in our calendar also support the investment of returned time for our incredible teaching staff who work diligently to support our students each and every day.
We thank you for your continued partnership.
Distinctive Schools Leadership Team
